Service Overview

Each first responder radio strap produced by The Great Northern Armory is built with the same standards applied to all work coming out of the workshop: durability, restraint, and function-first construction.

These are not decorative accessories or mass-produced items. They are custom-built pieces of duty gear designed to be worn over turnout gear, withstand daily use, and hold their structure over time.

This service is offered to firefighters, law enforcement and first responders who want equipment that prioritizes reliability, fit, and honest construction.

What's Included

Every custom radio strap includes:

  • Hand-cut, full-grain leather
  • Reinforced stress points at load-bearing areas
  • Heavy-duty stitching intended for long-term wear
  • Standard radio attachment hardware
  • Custom length for proper fit over turnout gear
  • Finished and conditioned for durability and weather resistance

Each piece is built and inspected by hand before delivery.

Customization Options

Customization is available where it supports function, fit, and durability.

Available Options

  • Leather color (black, brown, scarlet/mahogany, etc., when appropriate)
  • Stitch color (subtle contrast or tone-on-tone)
  • Hardware finish (nickel, antique brass, black, etc.)
  • Optional loop for mic attachment
  • Optional badge holder
  • Optional light embossing (name, initials, simple knotwork, or department number)

Not Offered

  • Complex logos without prior approval
  • Full pictorial tooling
  • Rush builds (unless there's availability)
  • Mass production orders
